We cannot change our genes.
But we can change the signals we send them.
Even if you carry APOE4. Even if you carry the DAO, MTHFR, or other genes.
Even if certain conditions run in your family.
Your body is always responding.
Every meal.
Every breath.
Every walk.
Every night of sleep.
Those signals matter more than most people realize.
Small shifts… change chemistry.
If you’ve been feeling inflamed, reactive, or exhausted…
it’s not random.
For me, this became very clear after multiple mold exposures.
That’s when I started noticing something I couldn’t ignore:
My body would react to everything.
My skin would itch after Epsom salt baths.
I’d get flushed after showers.
Random redness, almost like tiny cuts on my skin.
Sinus pressure and headaches that came out of nowhere.
Digestive issues that didn’t make sense.
It felt unpredictable… until I understood what was actually happening.
Think of histamine like a bucket.
Every exposure — food, stress, toxins, hormones — adds to it.
When your body can’t break histamine down fast enough…
that bucket overflows.
And when it does, symptoms show up.
Not just allergies.
Skin reactions
Headaches or sinus pressure
Bloating or digestive discomfort
Anxiety or feeling “wired”
Poor sleep
Sensitivity to foods you used to tolerate
This is where so many women get confused…
Because it doesn’t look like one clear issue.
Histamine issues are rarely about histamine alone.
They’re usually a signal that something deeper needs support.
Most often, I see this tied to:
Gut inflammation or imbalance
Mold or toxin exposure
Hormonal shifts (especially estrogen dominance)
Chronic stress + nervous system overload
Sluggish detox pathways
Nutrient depletion
So the goal isn’t just to “avoid histamine.”
It’s to help your body handle it better.
This is where people get stuck.
They start eliminating everything…
or taking supplement after supplement…
…but never address the root.
What actually moves the needle is a layered approach:
Supporting the gut so histamine can be broken down properly.
Reducing the overall “load” on your system.
Calming the nervous system (this is a big one).
Supporting detox pathways gently.
Creating stability in blood sugar and daily rhythms.
Yes — there are targeted tools that can help.
But they work best when they’re part of a bigger strategy…
not a quick fix.
Your body is not working against you.
It’s responding to what it’s been given — and what it’s been through.
And it will respond when you give it the right support.
This is something just for you.
Because your body is always listening to what you repeat.
And when you start supporting it differently…
everything begins to shift.
If you’re ready for deeper support, this is also the work we do inside EmpowerHER Wellness — where we go beyond guessing and help you understand exactly what your body needs to feel better again.
